Judging Criteria Old System

Criteria for inclusion on the Tibetan Mastiff Club of GB Judges list

A1 List

For persons who have previously been approved by The Kennel Club to award CCs in the breed and have completed their first appointment and have the support of the Tibetan Mastiff Club of GB.

A2 List

For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by The Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list and have the support of the Tibetan Mastiff Club of GB.

A3 List (Breed Specialists)

For persons who fulfil these requirements,

1. Minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and have the support of the Tibetan Mastiff Club of GB. (KC Policy)


2. To have judged the breed at 5 Open Shows or Championship Shows without CC’s with an adequate geographical spread.


3. To have judged a minimum of 10 classes of this breed


4. To have judged a minimum of 40 dogs in this breed.


5. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Requirements of a Dog Show Judge. (KC Policy)


6. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement. (KC Policy)


7. To have attended at least one breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable. (KC Policy)


8. To have attended a Points of the Dog seminar conducted by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment. (KC Policy)


9. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their 1st entry in The Kennel Club Stud Book (Save in exceptional circumstances). (KC Policy)


10. To have stewarded over a minimum of 6 days at shows. (KC Policy)


A3 List (Non Specialists)

For persons who fulfil these requirements,


1. Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed (to include 5 years in this breed) and have the support of the Tibetan Mastiff Club of GB. (KC Policy)


2. To have judged the breed at 5 Open Shows or Championship Shows without CC’s with an adequate geographical spread.


3. To have judged a minimum of 10 classes of this breed.


4. To have judged a minimum of 40 dogs in this breed.


5. To have awarded CCs in at least one other breed. (KC Policy)


6. To have attended at least one breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable. (KC Policy)


7. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when they obtained their 1stentry in The Kennel Club Stud Book (Save in exceptional circumstances) (KC Policy)


Criteria for inclusion on the Tibetan Mastiff Club of GB Judges B List


B List (Breed Specialists)


For persons who fulfil these requirements,


1. To have 5 years experience owning and exhibiting in this breed and have the support of the Tibetan Mastiff Club of GB.


2. To have judged 5 classes of this breed at Open Shows or Championship Shows without CC’s.


3. To have judged 10 dogs of this breed.


4. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Requirements of a Dog Show Judge


5. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement.


6. To have attended a Tibetan Mastiff breed judging seminar


B List (Non Specialists)


For persons who fulfil these requirements,


1. Minimum of 5 years judging experience in any breed and have the support of the Tibetan Mastiff Club of GB.


2. To have judged 5 classes of this breed at Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs.


3. To have judged 10 dogs of this breed.


4. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Requirements of a Dog Show Judge.


5. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement.


6. To have attended a Tibetan Mastiff breed judging seminar
